My 5 Must-Haves When Visiting a Theme Park

  1. Portable Charger
I recommend a portable charger when you are traveling to any destination but a true must-have when visiting a theme park.  Between taking photos (and posting to your social media), checking ride wait times, mobile ordering your food, and if you are at a Disney theme park, using the Genie, your phone battery will run down quickly!

I love this Anker Ultra High Cell Capacity Power Bank.  I have never had to worry about this charger dying while in the parks and I am able to charge two phones (or other electronics) at once. The charger provides anywhere between 5-10 full charges on my iPhone before I need to charge it.

You can purchase this charger or another version here.

  2. Belt Bag (fanny pack)
I prefer to be hands-free when I am in a theme park.  I find backpacks big and bulky and honestly, very easy for someone to get into if you are waiting in a crowded line.  When wearing a crossbody, my shoulders end up pretty sore by the end of a long theme park day.

I wear this Lulu Lemon Athletica Everywhere Belt Bag.  It is the perfect size to fit my Anker Power Bank, my cell phone, my glasses case, money, etc.  It comes in a variety of colors, and the adjustable waistband will fit most people.  And on many rides, you don’t have to take the belt bag off!

You can purchase this belt bag or another belt bag option here.
  3. Band-Aids
Even your most comfortable shoes can cause blisters when you are walking around a theme park all day (think 25,000 to 30,000 steps in one day!).  I tend to get them on my heels when wearing sneakers or on the sides of my feet when wearing flip flops.

When this happened on my last trip to Disneyland, I made a pit stop at the Target across the street from our hotel before heading out for day two.  I came across the Band-Aid Brand Hydro Seal Bandages.  These are the best blister bandages I have ever purchased!  They are waterproof so you can swim or shower with them and they will not fall off.

You can purchase them here. They come in a variety of sizes and packs.
  4. Oofos
The best pair of flip flops I have ever invested in!

My feet tend to swell when I am on them all day (hence the need for the band-aids above).  I rarely wear sneakers or any other closed-toe option when visiting a theme park.  I like to wear flip-flops.  But we all know so many types of flip-flops/sandals can be very uncomfortable by the end of the day.

Not the Oofos.  These are so comfortable and even when my feet swelled, I still was able to wear them.   I own them in black so they match all my theme park gear but they come in other colors too.

You can purchase them or another option here.
  5. Lanyards
If you are visiting Universal Orlando or Universal Studios Hollywood, I always recommend bringing lanyards.  These are perfect for holding your room key, your theme park tickets, and your Express Pass.  It is so much easier to have these items hanging around your neck instead of having to dig them out of your belt bag every time you need them.

You can purchase a Harry Potter version or another option here.
